Roger Daniel "Danny" Martin was born September 21, 1944, and grew up in Cone, Texas. He attended Texas Tech University from 1966 through 1968, graduating with a Bachelors of Business Administration specializing in finance and banking. After college he entered the Army and was sent to Da Nang, Vietnam, in April of 1969. He served as the assistant to the Chief of Financial Operations for the 64th Finance Section until April of 1970. During his military career he earned the Army CommendationMedal and the Bronze Star for meritorious service and attained the rank of staff sergeant. He was married to Phyllis Elaine Johnson and had two sons, Christopher Jon Martin and Roger Cole Martin. He died February 10, 1974.
