Administrative Business Assistant
The Vietnam Center and Archive at Texas Tech University is currently accepting applications for the position of Administrative Business Assistant. This is a full-time, non-exempt position that includes benefits.
Primary Duties: Ensure correspondence/documents are accurately addressed and correctly mailed. Correctly distributes incoming mail. Properly file correspondence, emails and other documents. Courteously answers the phone by the third ring.
Other Duties: Assist with coordinating activities related to annual conferences by organizing advanced registration, organizing supplies, preparing name tags, coordinating bus transportation, assisting with hotel coordination, and helping with transporting participants in a TTU or rental van.
Required Qualifications: Proficiency in written and mathematical processes that may be reflected by the completion of high school or the equivalent. Four years progressively responsible clerical experience, including one-year supervisory experience. Additional education and/or related experience to equal four years may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
Note: This is a Security Sensitive Level I Position: Applicants for this position will be subject to a police records check and may be required to be fingerprinted.
Preferred Qualifications: Computer proficiency required using Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Proficient in the use of office equipment to include copy and fax machines, typewriters and other items. Possess a strong work ethic and willingness to learn new tasks. Strong communication skills essential and the ability to deal effectively in contacts with people. Valid driver's license and insurable to operate a university vehicle.
Compensation: $10.69 - 15.16 per hour
