Oral History Project General Information

The Vietnam Archive is dedicated to preserving the records and artifacts of the Wars in Southeast Asia. The materials we collect are available to students, scholars, and the general public. It is our long term goal to make as much material as possible available through the Internet in the Virtual Vietnam Archive. The Oral History Project is designed to add to these holdings by preserving, through recorded interviews, the recollections and experiences of the men and women who participated in these Wars.

How can you help us preserve the record of the Vietnam War?

At this time, the Oral History Project is developing a list of interview candidates and is conducting interviews as time permits. We would like to interview American, Allied, and Vietnamese military and civilian personnel to include civilians on the home front. If you were involved in activities surrounding the Wars in Southeast Asia and want your recollections preserved for posterity, please fill out the following questionnaire and someone will contact you about participating in our project. If you are curious about what is involved with being interviewed, please visit our Interview Process page for more detailed information.  You can also read interview transcripts and listen to streaming audio recordings of interviews at our Browse the Interviews pages.
