  • Richard Wagner was born on November 25, 1947, and grew up in Dallas, Texas. He served in Vietnam in 1970 as an advisor with the 5th Special Forces Group in the I Corp/Da Nang area. During his service, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Republic of Vietnam Air Force Honor Medal 1st Class, Air Medal, Republic of Vietnam Civil Action Medal, Republic of Vietnam Staff Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Viet Nam Campaign Medal, Viet Nam Service Medal, National DefenseMedal, Vietnam Defense Medal, and he earned his Airborne jump wings, Combat Infantry Badge, and Expert Marksman - Small Arms Badge. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1974 with a BA of Business Administration in Marketing. While at Tech, he was active in the Kappa Order Fraternity, American Management Association, and was a student assistant to the Dean of the School of Business. He is married to Joanne Wagner and has a son, Richard Jason Wagner.
